Arlington Library occupies a Carnegie-funded building at the corner of Arlington Avenue and Warwick Street in East New York, a predominantly African American and Latino neighborhood in eastern Brooklyn. Originally known as the East Branch when it opened in 1906, the library was renovated in 1950–52 and again in 1980. It serves a diverse working-class community and hosts a passport acceptance facility on-site, making it one of the few BPL branches offering federal passport services.
