📖 About Sedgwick Branch
The Sedgwick Branch has served west-central Bronx residents since 1951, when it first operated on the ground floor of the Sedgwick Houses public housing complex. In June 1994, the branch relocated to its current purpose-built two-story facility at the corner of University Avenue (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.) and West 176th Street in Morris Heights. The building's signature feature is an innovative circular community room encased in stainless steel with large windows that bathe the space in afternoon light. Children's collections occupy the ground floor, while adult and young adult materials are housed on the second floor, which is served by an elevator for full wheelchair accessibility.
