📖 About West Farms Library

West Farms Library traces its roots to 1929, when it opened as a sub-branch of The New York Public Library. In 1954 it relocated to its current home at 2085 Honeywell Avenue, in the South Bronx neighborhood of West Farms — a predominantly Latino and African American community bordered by Bronx Park to the north. The fully accessible building places an expansive children's library on the upper floor and shared adult and teen spaces on the first floor, served by an ADA-accessible elevator. Two meeting rooms equipped with projectors and 75-inch televisions support community gatherings, and the branch partners with local organizations including VIP Services, Community Board 6, Cardinal McCloskey Day Care, and Phipps Neighborhoods. The Bronx Zoo and New York Botanical Garden are within walking distance.
