📖 About Grand Concourse Library

The Grand Concourse Library serves a neighborhood defined by some of the finest Art Deco and Art Moderne apartment architecture in the United States, built along the boulevard designed by Louis Aloys Risse and completed in 1909. The branch opened in 1959 to meet the needs of a then-thriving middle-class community and today serves a predominantly Dominican and Latino population in one of the Bronx's most densely populated corridors. Its collections are available in English and Spanish, and its multi-use community room hosts local organizations and class visits throughout the year.
