The West Toledo Branch of the Toledo Lucas County Public Library has served its neighborhood from 1320 Sylvania Avenue since 1930, when it opened in the building it still occupies today near the corner of Sylvania Avenue and Willys Parkway. The branch was remodeled and expanded in 2001 to modernize the space and add room for its collections, programs, and services. It is such a fixture of the area that the historic surrounding neighborhood, "Library Village," takes its name from the branch. As part of the Toledo Lucas County Public Library system, West Toledo provides books and materials, public technology, community and meeting space, and programming for local residents. The branch keeps evening hours Monday through Thursday and shorter Friday and Saturday hours, and is closed on Sundays.
