📖 About West Tampa Branch Library
The West Tampa Branch opened in January 1914 as the first public library in Hillsborough County, funded by a $17,500 Carnegie grant on land donated by cigar magnate Angel Cuesta. The Neoclassical Revival brick building, one of only eleven Carnegie libraries built in Florida, joined the National Register of Historic Places in 1983 and was expanded in 2004.
