📖 About Scenic Woods Regional Library

<p>Built in 1986 and serving the working-class African-American neighborhood near Homestead Road and Parker Road in northeast Houston, Scenic Woods Regional Library made history when it became the <strong>first TECHLink</strong> location in the Houston Public Library system — a flagship creative makerspace model intended for replication at up to 17 branches. After closing for more than a year for a full technology overhaul, the 11,000-square-foot facility reopened with a Digital Creative Space equipped with 3D printers, virtual reality headsets, embroidery machines, and photo/video digitization tools; a professional Music Studio with digital audio workstations, instruments, and mixing equipment; a Video Studio; and a Tiny Techs area for younger visitors. The library is also a certified GED Testing Center, and equipment reservations are managed online through techlink.libcal.com. The Fontaine-Scenic Woods Civic Club and East Houston-Settegast Super Neighborhood Council both serve the surrounding community.</p>
