📖 About Everett Collier Regional Library

Opened in September 1985 and named for Everett D. Collier — longtime editor, vice president, and board member of the Houston Chronicle who served at its helm from 1965 to 1979 — this 12,900-square-foot regional branch anchors the northwest Oak Forest corridor on Pinemont Drive. A full interior renovation completed in 2012 by BRAVE/architecture introduced age-segmented zones for children, teens, and adults, each with custom-scaled furniture, distinct color palettes, and targeted resources, establishing a model later replicated across the HPL system. The branch is one of Houston Public Library's designated passport acceptance facilities, offering photo services on-site.
