<p>Housed inside the Southwest Multi-Service Center at 6400 High Star Drive, HPL Express Southwest was described as "the first of its kind in the country" when it opened — a compact 3,600-square-foot express library built around equitable technology access rather than a traditional stacks model. The facility offers more than 50 public computers, free wireless internet, self-checkout stations, two 42-inch LCD monitors for gaming, virtual reference services, digital storytime, and a computer reservation paging system. Patrons have full access to HPL's system-wide digital collection including 119 research databases. Operating four days a week (closed Fri–Sun), it serves a culturally diverse west Houston community and emphasizes lifelong learning through computer courses, age-appropriate events, and virtual tutoring alongside its digital resources.</p>
