📖 About Park Place Regional Library

Park Place Regional Library anchors the Park Place neighborhood in southeast Houston, a working-class area whose demographic profile shifted significantly in the late 20th century with the arrival of Vietnamese American families who now make up a notable share of local residents — including at nearby Park Place Elementary, where Vietnamese is one of three languages on school signage. As one of HPL's five designated regional libraries, this branch offers deeper collections and additional programming beyond a standard neighborhood branch. It is also an authorized U.S. passport acceptance facility, where trained staff verify identity, witness signatures, and process passport applications on behalf of the U.S. Department of State. The branch also partners with the Houston Immigration Legal Services Collaborative to deliver civics-for-citizenship classes and English learner programs.
