📖 About High Point Branch
The High Point Branch is located at the heart of the High Point neighborhood, a large West Seattle community that underwent a major mixed-income redevelopment by the Seattle Housing Authority beginning in the early 2000s. The branch was built as part of that redevelopment to give the revitalized neighborhood a civic anchor, and today it functions as a genuine community crossroads: the branch describes itself as a place with "quiet study rooms to concentrate, technology zones, and family-friendly areas," and its collections in Amharic, Oromo, Somali, and Tigrinya reflect the East African communities who have made High Point their home. The branch is fully accessible, certified as a Safe Place, and offers a seed library for gardeners — a resource well suited to the neighborhood's community gardens and single-family lots.
