📖 About Waupaca Area Public Library
Waupaca Area Public Library serves the city of Waupaca and the surrounding Chain O' Lakes region in central Wisconsin. The library's roots run deep: thanks to the advocacy of Waupaca's women's clubs and community leaders, the library secured a Carnegie Corporation grant that funded a new building designed by La Crosse architects Parkinson and Dockendorff in a striking English Tudor Revival and American Arts and Crafts style — opening on July 1, 1914. That historic Carnegie building, located at 321 S. Main Street, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996 and now serves as the Holly History & Genealogy Center. The current library at 107 S. Main Street is a member of the Outagamie Waupaca Library System (InfoSoup) and gives cardholders access to digital collections, genealogy resources, and the local Waupaca History Archive — plus a Little Free Pantry for community food sharing. The library also offers passport acceptance and free notary services to the public.
