Eastpointe Memorial Library is a city-governed public library serving the roughly 32,000 residents of Eastpointe, Michigan, a dense inner-ring suburb in southern Macomb County bordering Detroit, Roseville, and St. Clair Shores. The city itself was known as East Detroit until July 1, 1992, when voters renamed it Eastpointe to shed the Detroit association and signal a distinct municipal identity — the library's 'Memorial' name honors the community's service history. The library holds nearly 67,000 volumes and circulates more than 112,000 items annually, participating in the Suburban Library Cooperative (SLC), which connects it to more than 27 regional libraries for interlibrary lending and shared digital resources.
