📖 About Roseville Public Library
The Roseville Public Library traces its roots to May 1936, when the Roseville-Erin Township Library Association launched from a single room in the new village municipal building. After Roseville incorporated in 1958, a five-member library commission took over governance, and the library eventually moved into a purpose-built facility within the Civic Center Plaza adjacent to City Hall. It transitioned to an Act 164 library with dedicated millage funding on January 1, 2012. A full renovation completed April 1, 2026, transformed the building with four study rooms, four meeting rooms, a Creation Station Maker Space, a café, and redesigned Youth and Teen areas. Today the library circulates approximately 111,000 items annually to its 19,000 registered cardholders and belongs to the Suburban Library Cooperative, giving every Roseville card access to millions of shared items across southeastern Michigan.
