📖 About Beene-Pearson Public Library

The Beene-Pearson Public Library is one of two branches of the Marion County TN Libraries system, serving South Pittsburg and the surrounding communities of Marion County in southeastern Tennessee. South Pittsburg sits at the lowest elevation of any incorporated city in the East Tennessee Grand Division, at about 630 feet on the Tennessee River at the edge of Guntersville Lake, and it carries a rich industrial heritage: British investors launched iron and coal operations here in the 1870s, and Lodge Manufacturing — founded in 1896 — has made the city the cast-iron cookware capital of America. The library at 208 Elm Avenue reflects that community character, offering a notary service, a conference room, piano practice space, local history records and research assistance alongside its circulating collection. Cardholders access the Tennessee Electronic Library (TEL) — the state's gateway to databases, newspapers and research tools — plus eBooks and eAudiobooks through Libby.
