The Bordeaux Branch traces its history to 1976, when the Bordeaux Civic Club contributed a site for the community's first library on Hydes Ferry Road. That original building measured just over 2,200 square feet. The current 20,000-square-foot facility on Clarksville Pike opened in 2000, designed by McFarlin Huitt Panvini Architects, who worked library motifs into the building itself. The move let the branch triple its book collection and add public computers and digital catalogs that the older location never had. A 2015 renovation reshaped the interior with flexible conference rooms for public use and a central service desk. Today the branch anchors library service for the Bordeaux neighborhood in North Nashville.
