About The John P. Holt Brentwood Library
The John P. Holt Brentwood Library has been a cornerstone of Williamson County's intellectual life since the first permanent Brentwood library opened in 1976. Named in honor of John P. Holt, a dedicated community leader, the library grew from a modest 950-square-foot facility in the Buchanan House to its modern, expansive building at 8109 Concord Road. Today it serves Brentwood — consistently ranked among the most affluent and fastest-growing cities in Tennessee — with a comprehensive collection of books, digital resources, and community programming for all ages.
Beyond its robust physical collection, the library provides access to the Tennessee Electronic Library, OverDrive's TN READS digital lending platform, and Kanopy streaming films. Community programs span early literacy storytimes, teen maker events, and adult enrichment workshops, making the library a true hub for lifelong learning in Williamson County's dynamic suburban landscape.
