Dallas Public Library is the public library of Dallas, Oregon — the county seat of Polk County, situated west of the Willamette River in the heart of the mid-Willamette Valley. The library traces its roots to a Carnegie Corporation grant of $10,000 awarded in December 1911, which funded construction of the original library building that opened in 1912. In 1974 the library joined the Chemeketa Cooperative Regional Library Service (CCRLS), a consortium of 17 independently owned libraries in Polk, Marion, and Yamhill counties, giving every cardholder access to roughly one million shared items.
