📖 About Parsons Branch

The Parsons Branch traces its roots to 1928, when it was dedicated as one of the Columbus Metropolitan Library's first four neighborhood branches. For decades it operated as the smallest branch in the CML system, serving the residents of the near South Side along the Parsons Avenue corridor. In June 2016, as part of CML's aspirational building program, the library opened a much larger replacement building a few blocks south of the original site at 1113 Parsons Ave. The new branch dramatically expanded shelf space, seating and public technology, holding a collection of roughly 37,000 volumes. Today it offers books, e-books, movies and music, meeting and study rooms, public computers with mobile printing, and free Wi-Fi, plus programs for children, teens and adults reflecting the diverse neighborhood it serves.
