📖 About Wood County District Public Library

Bowling Green is the county seat of Wood County in northwestern Ohio and home to Bowling Green State University, giving the city a combined population of roughly 32,000 residents during the academic year. The Wood County District Public Library (WCDPL) at 251 N. Main Street has been the community's primary library since the early twentieth century, evolving from a Carnegie-era reading room into a modern district system. In addition to the Main Branch in downtown Bowling Green, WCDPL operates a branch in Walbridge (108 N. Main St, serving the southern part of the county) and a Bookmobile that reaches rural communities throughout Wood County. The Main Branch sits two blocks from the BGSU campus and serves a broad public that includes longtime Wood County families, university students, and area professionals. The library offers public computers with printing, free Wi-Fi, a dedicated children's area, a teen space, and meeting and study facilities. Ohio's WCDPL is proud to celebrate Wood County 250 — a 2026 commemoration of Ohio's participation in the founding of America's first 250 years — with special programming and exhibits.
