📖 About Morrill Memorial Library
The Morrill Memorial Library is the public library of Norwood, Massachusetts, in Norfolk County. It was given to the town in 1898 by George H. and Louisa Morrill in memory of their daughter, Sarah Bond Morrill, who had died of typhoid fever; the Morrills ran a printing-ink works that was one of Norwood's largest employers. Built of first-quality granite in a Romanesque style, the original building was expanded with additions in 1928 and 1965 and fully renovated in 2001 to carry it into the 21st century. The library is a member of the Minuteman Library Network, a consortium of more than 40 Greater Boston libraries, so a Norwood card borrows from a shared collection of roughly 5.5 million items and can be picked up across the network.
