📖 About Athol Public Library
The Athol Public Library traces its roots to the Athol Social Library of 1830, making it one of the region's longest-serving reading institutions. The current 568 Main Street building was substantially renovated and expanded in 2013, bringing modern meeting spaces, a dedicated Youth Services room, and an expanded local history archive. As a CW MARS member library, patrons can borrow from, and return to, nearly 30 partner libraries stretching from Worcester to the Berkshires. The library maintains an Ancestry Library Edition terminal for in-house genealogy research and supports a growing digital collection through Libby, hoopla, and magazine databases.
