The downtown Salisbury branch of Wicomico Public Libraries was renamed the Paul S. Sarbanes Library in 2021 to honor Senator Paul Sarbanes, who was born and raised in Salisbury and represented Maryland in the U.S. Senate for 30 years (1977-2007), co-authoring the landmark Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Located at 122 S Division St in the city's downtown core, the library serves as the system's main branch with the largest collection and widest range of services across Wicomico County's Eastern Shore communities. Programs span all age groups and include the Beanstack reading challenge, Dungeons and Dragons for teens, and adult workshops.
