Southeast Anchor Library opened on May 14, 2007 at 3601 Eastern Avenue, marking the first new library construction in Baltimore in more than three decades. At over 27,000 square feet, it holds more than 80,000 volumes and includes an outdoor reading garden. The branch sits in Highlandtown and serves the surrounding Highlandtown and Canton areas, a part of the city long known for its immigrant and multilingual population, and it maintains a dedicated Spanish-language collection to reflect that community. Alongside its book and media collections, the library offers free Wi-Fi, public computers, printing and copying, and separate children's and teen sections. Staff provide job and career assistance, and community meeting rooms can be reserved for local groups. The branch also runs the Pratt Free Market, distributing food and household goods, and offers self-checkout for a faster visit.
