📖 About Juliaetta Community Library
The Juliaetta Community Library is a branch of the Latah County Library District, the public library system serving seven communities in Latah County, Idaho. The branch serves the twin communities of Juliaetta and Kendrick — small agricultural towns along the South Fork Palouse River, about 20 miles east of Moscow. After nearly two decades of discussions about a permanent home, the Latah County Library District acquired a former bank building at 501 Main St, Kendrick in November 2024. Director April Hernandez led a nearly year-long renovation that included removing the original bank vault door and rebuilding the interior. The library opened its doors to the public on October 6, 2025, bringing fresh collections, youth programming, and community tech-help events to one of Latah County's most geographically isolated communities. The Friends of the Kendrick-Juliaetta Library provide ongoing volunteer and fundraising support for the branch.
