📖 About Switzer Library

The Charles D. Switzer Public Library has served as Cobb County's central library since the original branch opened in the old Marietta Post Office in 1963; the current building at 266 Roswell Street opened in September 1989 and was renamed in 2013 to honor longtime trustee Charles D. Switzer. After an extensive renovation it reopened on June 1, 2021. It houses the Georgia Room (local history and genealogy), the Windy Hill Library for individuals with special needs, adult and teen makerspaces, and an outdoor Rosalynn Carter Butterfly Trail Garden.
