📖 About Lewis A. Ray Library
The Lewis A. Ray Library traces to 1962, when Cobb County opened the Oakdale Library in a fire-station basement; it moved to the current Oakdale Road site in 1967. It was renamed for Dr. Lewis A. Ray, a Smyrna dentist who chaired the Cobb County library system. In 2023 the branch was renovated and reopened on November 27 as a designated Family Services branch, with new enclosed children's program and study rooms.
