📖 About Gritters Library

Gritters Library is named after the 911th Militia District, organized in 1839 and said to take its name from a nearby grist mill. The branch first operated from the back of a county fire station before moving into a dedicated building in 1973; that structure was demolished in 2023 and replaced by a new 20,000-square-foot facility that opened on November 6, 2024. The library shares its building with the relocated Northeast Cobb Community Center and the CobbWorks workforce development headquarters.
