📖 About Brooks County Public Library

The library traces its roots to 1880 and once operated on the second floor of a downtown building that now houses law offices. Its longtime home was a 1933 structure built with a $5,000 WPA grant, notable enough that the American Library Association featured it in its 1939 volume 'Small Library Buildings.' In November 1993 the library moved to its current location on Barwick Road, where it continues to serve Brooks County residents as part of the Valdosta-based South Georgia Regional Library.
