Pleasant Grove Public Library opened in 1973 and is conveniently located on the ground floor of the Pleasant Grove City Hall building at 501 Park Road. The library serves a city of roughly 9,300 residents on the western edge of Jefferson County, north of Hueytown, with easy access via Interstate 59 from Birmingham. The library is a long-standing member of the Jefferson County Library Cooperative, which has provided countywide public library service since 1924 and was formally renamed the JCLC in 1997. One free card gives residents access to more than 40 library locations across Jefferson County. Director Jennie Patterson and Assistant Director Annette Holsomback lead a staff committed to connecting the community with books, programs, and digital resources.
