📖 About Norcross Branch

Library service in Norcross traces back to a 1907 Woman's Club library — the earliest public-library precursor in the Gwinnett region. The current 22,000-square-foot facility at 5735 Buford Highway opened on October 27, 2021 next to Lillian Webb Park, built through a SPLOST-funded agreement between the county and the City of Norcross. Serving one of the county's most diverse communities, where nearly 40% of residents are foreign-born, it keeps collections in Spanish, French, Korean and Vietnamese.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

When did the current Norcross Branch open?

The new 22,000-square-foot branch opened on October 27, 2021, replacing a smaller facility. The county and the City of Norcross shared SPLOST-funded construction costs through an intergovernmental agreement, roughly doubling the old branch's size.

Does the branch have materials in languages other than English?

Yes. Because nearly 40% of Norcross residents were born outside the United States, the branch keeps collections in Spanish, French, Korean and Vietnamese and offers multilingual literacy and ESL programs.

What recording studios does the Norcross Branch have?

The branch includes both a video and an audio recording studio among its maker amenities. Contact the branch via gwinnettpl.org or 770-978-5154 for scheduling and equipment guidelines.
