The Lawrenceville Hooper-Renwick Branch, opened in 1990 and reopened in 2025 after a major renovation, sits at 56 Neal Boulevard — distinct from GCPL's administrative offices on Lawrenceville Highway. It is the system's only themed library, built around the Hooper-Renwick Black Studies Collection: a specialized set of print and digital materials on African American history and the African diaspora, including digitized newspapers from 1825 to 1995 and an on-site reference reading room.
