BHM Regional Library is the hub of an eight-branch system stretching across Beaufort, Hyde, and Martin Counties — a sprawling network of coastal plain and sound-country communities. The headquarters branch at 158 N. Market Street opened in 1941 with a donated collection and a mission to bring books and learning to communities long underserved by library access. Today the system holds more than 112,000 volumes and circulates over 145,000 items annually.
