About Harold D. Cooley Library
The Harold D. Cooley Library has been the heart of Nashville's intellectual and cultural life since 1938. Named in honor of Harold D. Cooley, a distinguished North Carolina congressman who represented Nash County for over three decades, this library stands as a tribute to his commitment to public service and education. Located on West Church Street in the historic downtown core, the library serves Nashville and the broader Nash County community with a comprehensive collection of books, periodicals, audiobooks, and digital resources.
The library participates in NC LIVE, giving cardholders free access to thousands of online databases, eBooks, academic journals, and streaming resources from home. Children's storytimes, homework help, and community programming make the Cooley Library a gathering place for residents of all ages throughout Nash County.
