📖 About Madison Branch Library

The Madison Branch Library serves the Madison community of northern Davidson County as part of Nashville Public Library's 21-branch system. The first Madison branch opened March 14, 1977, and operated for more than two decades before the current facility debuted in 2000 on the site of the old Taylor Stratton School. Architects Gobbell Hays Partners gave the building a theme drawn from The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, reflecting the library's deep investment in children and the joy of discovery. Today the 2000-era building offers a full suite of public services: notary service, Studio NPL for teen makers, a seed exchange, arts lending, a jobs lab, vinyl records, world language children's materials, laptop vending, a vending café, group study rooms, and a drive-thru book return — all free with a Nashville Public Library card.
