Millcreek Library is a branch of Salt Lake County Library (known countywide as The County Library), serving the Millcreek community in the heart of the Salt Lake Valley. It replaced a smaller predecessor branch when the Millcreek Community Center opened on April 12, 2012 — the $18.5 million project combining a library, recreation center, and senior center under one roof for the first time in the county system's history. The new library doubled in size and grew its collection by 50,000 items to 122,000 materials at opening. A symbolic stream flows through the library's interior as a design element, and a second-story walking track winds through the children's reading area. With 24 public computers, a dedicated teen room, meeting and conference rooms, and seating overlooking Evergreen Park, the branch consistently ranks among the most-used in the county.
