📖 About Highland City Library
Highland City Library grew from a joint-use arrangement at Mountain Ridge Junior High (1994–2001) into a dedicated city facility that officially opened in January 2009 when Highland built its new City Hall and set aside space for a standalone library. A children's room funded by the Highland City Library Foundation was added in 2018. Despite ranking in the lowest 15% of comparably sized libraries for local funding, the library circulates roughly 190,000 physical items and 60,000 digital items annually. In 2018 it joined the Northern Utah County Library Cooperative (NUCLC), granting patrons reciprocal borrowing access at American Fork, Pleasant Grove, Lehi, and Eagle Mountain libraries. The library earned Utah State Library's 2024 Quality Library Award, recognized for its programs and community reach relative to its size.
