First Colony Branch Library opened in June 1993 as the second of four branches built with 1989 bond funds, a 19,400-square-foot building with capacity for 95,000 items. Serving the fast-growing First Colony master-planned community in Sugar Land, it soon became the highest-circulation branch in the FBCL system.
