About Benton County Public Library

Benton County Public Library System was established in 1942 and has served Camden and surrounding Benton County for over 80 years. Committed to "providing outstanding services in a welcoming, supportive environment for engaging the community and enriching lives," the library has grown from its origins into a multi-location institution encompassing both the Main Library at 121 South Forrest Avenue and a separate Archives branch. The library's eclectic collection includes books, DVDs, Blu-rays, audiobooks, periodicals, business resources, newspapers, and historical records, with patrons empowered to submit purchase requests to help shape the collection.

Benton County, Tennessee — home to Kentucky Lake, the world's largest man-made lake — draws visitors and retirees year-round, and the library serves both long-time residents and newcomers alike. A dedicated Children and Youth Library with specialized programming led by a youth librarian ensures the next generation of readers is well served. Digital resources through the Tennessee Electronic Library and OverDrive's TN READS platform extend the library's reach beyond its physical walls, while Interlibrary Loan services connect patrons to materials from across the country.
