📖 About Wilsonville Public Library
The Wilsonville Public Library was founded in 1982, initially operating in leased space in a school district building. In 1988 the city opened its first dedicated library facility (roughly 7,500 square feet), and in 2002 that building was expanded to nearly four times the size, creating the current 28,677-square-foot facility at 8200 SW Wilsonville Road, adjacent to Wilsonville Memorial Park. The children's section is named in honor of Walt Morey, the Oregon author best known for Gentle Ben. As a member of the Library Information Network of Clackamas County (LINCC), a single card provides access to the shared catalog across the county system. The library partners with the Wilsonville Historical Society and offers notary services, test proctoring, tax help assistance, a Seed Library and the community-loved Book Bike for park outreach — all free with a LINCC card.

Morey lived much of his life in the Portland-area region and was celebrated as a beloved Pacific Northwest children's author. The library named its children's section in his honor.
