📖 About Chandler Public Library
Chandler Public Library is the public library of Chandler, Oklahoma — the Lincoln County seat, whose own land run took place on September 28, 1891. The library was established in 1987 in the basement of the former City Hall, then relocated in 1992 to its current home at 1021 Manvel Avenue. It holds more than 13,000 books alongside DVDs, audiobooks, and digital titles through the Oklahoma Virtual Library. A memorial section honors Thelma Clayton (1918–2007), established through a donation from the Chandler High School class of 1959. Each year the library board awards the Thelma Clayton and Joan Butts Memorial Scholarships — $1,000 each — to Lincoln County graduating seniors pursuing higher education. The library describes its mission as "a welcoming hub for the people of Chandler, Oklahoma and surrounding communities, offering resources, programs, and a space for learning, connection, and growth for all ages."
