📖 About Nixa Community Branch Library
The Nixa Community Branch Library is a branch of the Christian County Library system, serving Nixa — the second-largest city in the Springfield metropolitan area and one of Missouri's fastest-growing communities. Nixa's name is itself a local legend: it combines "nix" (said to reflect the settlement's early reputation as "nothing but a crossroads") with the middle initial of Nicholas A. Inman, an early blacksmith resident. Incorporated in 1946, the city is now home to more than 23,000 residents, Ozarks Technical Community College's Richwood Valley Campus, and Missouri's largest solar farm, completed in 2017 with 33,288 panels on 72 acres. The branch shares resources with the main Christian County Library in nearby Ozark through the COOLcat shared catalog alongside the Springfield-Greene County Library system, giving patrons access to a wide regional collection.
