Bloomfield Township Public Library is the independent public library of Bloomfield Township, Oakland County, Michigan, a residential community of about 44,000 known for its acclaimed public schools and proximity to Birmingham, Pontiac, and Troy. The library operates from a contemporary building at 1099 Lone Pine Road and is open seven days a week, staying open until 9 p.m. four nights a week. In late August 2026 the library began a year-long interior renovation to refresh high-traffic areas, transform underused spaces, and deepen its focus on community and inclusivity — the building reopened for full service on September 12, 2026. Cardholders can browse and borrow through the Vega catalog (blmtp.na4.iiivega.com), access ebooks and streaming media through Libby, hoopla, Kanopy, and medici.tv, and download the BTPL Mobile app for account management on the go. A dedicated History Collection documents the Bloomfield area's past in partnership with the Bloomfield Historical Society, and a Seed Library lets gardeners borrow packets each spring. The library also produces its own podcast, The Distracted Librarians, released on the 1st and 15th of each month.
