📖 About Logan County Public Library — Auburn Branch
The Auburn Branch is one of three locations operated by the Logan County Public Library, a system whose roots reach back to 1925 when the local Woman's Club established the first public library service in the county. A formal taxing district was created by petition in 1966, and branches in Russellville, Adairville and Auburn all opened together in August 1967 with support from federal, state and private funds. Today the system is fine-free — overdue fines were eliminated in 2019 to ensure the most vulnerable community members could access services — and continues to expand, with a new Russellville campus project underway as of 2025. The Auburn Branch brings that mission to the eastern end of Logan County, serving Auburn and the surrounding rural community with computers, free Wi-Fi, a Library of Things collection of tools and gadgets for checkout, notary services and full access to Kentucky Virtual Library databases and the system's digital lending platforms.
