📖 About Coffeyville Public Library

The Coffeyville Public Library serves the residents of Coffeyville, a historic trade city in Montgomery County in the Verdigris River valley of southeast Kansas. The library occupies an Andrew Carnegie–funded building that has stood since the early twentieth century, a legacy of the philanthropist's nationwide push to make knowledge freely accessible. Today the library is governed by a five-member Board of Trustees that meets monthly and is supported by the CPL Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit formed in 1989 to ensure long-term community access to learning. As a member of the Southeast Kansas Library System (SEKLS), the library participates in the regional SEKnFind catalog, giving patrons access to holdings across dozens of southeast Kansas libraries through a single search. The collection includes recent fiction and nonfiction, a network of nine community Free Little Libraries throughout the surrounding area, and expanded digital offerings funded in part by a Dollar General Literacy Foundation grant.
