📖 About ʻEwa Beach Public and School Library
The ʻEwa Beach Public and School Library opened on August 28, 1971 on the campus of James Campbell High School, making it one of only about a dozen facilities in Hawaiʻi where a Hawaiʻi State Public Library System branch and a public-school library share the same building. Its dual mission means the collection and programming serve both Campbell High students and ʻEwa Beach residents of all ages. In 2025, state legislators introduced Senate Bill 187, which proposes transferring the library from the State Public Library System to the Department of Education under James Campbell High School.
