📖 About Hawaiʻi Kai Public Library

Hawaiʻi Kai Public Library opened on December 1, 1973, and was designed by architect Harold T. Kurisu to serve the growing marina-side community at the eastern tip of Oʻahu. Beyond lending, the branch is supported by an unusually active Friends of the Hawaiʻi Kai Public Library, which runs children's storytimes and other programs. The Friends also operate a community bookstore on the library's ground floor, selling donated books and magazines to fund branch activities.
