📖 About Tifton-Tift County Public Library

Tifton-Tift County Public Library is the public library of Tifton, the agricultural hub of Tift County in south-central Georgia and home to the University of Georgia's Tifton campus. The library building at 245 Love Avenue was built in 1911 as the Tifton post office and served that purpose until 1960, when it was renovated to become the Tifton-Tift County Public Library — making it one of the oldest continuously occupied facilities in the city. A $3 million renovation in 2009 expanded the space from its original 1,830 square feet, modernizing it while preserving its historic character. The library holds about 62,000 volumes and belongs to the Coastal Plain Regional Library System (CPRL), which serves multiple south Georgia counties through the PINES shared catalog — a program of the Georgia Public Library Service covering 53 library systems in 143 counties. PINES membership means a Tifton card works at hundreds of libraries across Georgia. Patrons also have free access to GALILEO, the University System of Georgia's award-winning portal of over 100 research databases.
