📖 About Catoosa County Library
The Catoosa County Library traces its roots to 1937, when it was established under the Works Progress Administration in a Methodist parsonage before moving to the courthouse basement in 1938. A purpose-built facility opened near Ringgold High School in 1971, and the current $3 million SPLOST-funded building at the Benton Place Campus opened in 1999 — consolidating the previously separate Ringgold and Fort Oglethorpe branches into one county-wide location. In 2008 the library joined PINES, giving cardholders access to a shared statewide collection across more than 280 branches. Today the collection exceeds 100,000 print and audiovisual items, and the library is particularly proud of its outstanding genealogy collection and its Hunter Museum family passes for free admission.
