The David M. Hunt Library has served the residents of Falls Village in the Town of Canaan since 1891, making it one of northwestern Connecticut's longest-running public libraries. The library is named for David M. Hunt, a local benefactor, and occupies a welcoming building at 63 Main Street in the village center. Falls Village is a small community in Litchfield County known for its 19th-century iron furnace history and its position along the Housatonic River near the Massachusetts and New York state borders.
